Joke Silva, Family and Colleagues Honour Veteran Actor at Lagos Funeral

The marriage between veteran actors Joke Silva and Olu Jacobs was one of the most celebrated partnerships in Nigeria’s entertainment industry. The couple met through theatre, later married and worked together on several creative projects throughout their careers.

Silva remained a strong presence in Jacobs’ life, particularly during his later years, offering support and companionship as he faced declining health.

The funeral service held in Lagos brought together family members, friends, colleagues and admirers who gathered to pay their final respects to the veteran actor. The ceremony also provided an opportunity to celebrate Jacobs’ remarkable contribution to Nigeria’s film and theatre industries over a career spanning several decades.
