Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has expressed her readiness to return to filmmaking after making her debut in celebrity boxing against reality TV star Phyna.

The actress was knocked out by Phyna during the highly anticipated bout but said she remained proud of herself for taking on the challenge. According to Blessing, she had only trained for about two days before stepping into the ring.

Following the fight, the actress took to Instagram to reflect on the experience, describing herself as a champion regardless of the outcome.

“Still a CHAMPION regardless of the result,” she wrote, before adding, “Now let’s go back to making movies cus I no be boxer.”

Although she suffered defeat, Blessing indicated that she would not completely rule out another boxing appearance in the future.

“Will I do this again? OH YES,” she stated in another post while reflecting on her first experience in the boxing ring.

The actress revealed that she had never previously raised her hands to fight anyone but managed to overcome her fears and face the challenge.

Blessing described her performance as fighting “like a warrior” and said the experience had given her a memorable story to tell.

She also dedicated her participation to her late mother, Gloria Obasi Sunday, whom she said she wished could have been present to watch her.

According to the actress, she specifically requested that her late mother's favourite song be played before she entered the ring because she wanted to feel her mother's presence during the event.

“Mummy, were you watching? Did you also hear when they played your favourite song? I wanted you around, that was why I asked for that song,” she wrote.

Blessing further expressed appreciation to Balmoral Promotions and Bet9ja for providing her with the opportunity to participate in the celebrity boxing event.

Despite the outcome of the bout, the actress described the experience as unforgettable and appeared determined to return her focus to what she does best — making movies.
