NEWS Akeredolu died peacefully in his sleep – Son reveals cause of death Published   on   December 28, 2023 By  Emeka Henry Obi Oluwarotimi, the son of the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, has disclosed that his father died peacefully in his sleep in Germany. The news of Akeredolu’s death broke on Wednesday after undergoing illness for a while. But, Oluwarotimi Jnr disclosed that the late governor died while receiving treatment for prostate cancer in Germany. In a statement he signed, Oluwarotimi said the burial arrangement of the deceased would soon be made public. The statement reads: “He died peacefully and departed in his sleep at a Hospital in Germany, where he was undergoing treatment for protracted prostate cancer. PHOTO: Emeka Henry Obi Discordant compliance has continued to trail the 50 percent fare reduction proposed by the Federal Government as passengers have different stories to tell. The government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on 20th December, revealed companies that will be participating in the 50 per cent slash of inter-state transport fares. According to the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the five participating transport companies in the scheme are: GIG (God is Good), Chisco Transport, Young Shall Grow, God Bless Ezenwata, and Area Motor. NSCDC arrests 22 suspected illegal miners in FCT NSCDC FCT Commandant. Olusola Odumosu The Federal Capital (FCT) Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) arrested 82 suspected vandals and 22 illegal miners from August till date. The Commandant of NSCDC in FCT, Mr Olusola Odumosu, gave the figures during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Abuja. Odumosu said that 20 suspects were arrested in connection with manhole cover theft and vandalism of critical national assets and infrastructure. He said that five suspects were arrested in September for alleged vandalism of electrical cables, 14 for alleged vandalism of other public property, and two for alleged television theft.
