The victims, identified as Halilu Nuhu from Gidan Bawa village and Mamuda Aliyu from Bagarera village, were reportedly seized around noon on Thursday, July 31, while working on their respective farms. The industrial action, which began on Thursday, August 1, 2025, is being led by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the institution. The committee comprises the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU), and the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT).
